Black Friday Shopping

Today, was a very eventful day. This year, we spent our first black friday away from home sweet home (Missouri), and spent it in Kansas City. People there are so much nicer! Walmart at midnight is actually a decent place to be, minus the crazy people who feel that they MUST get the first $1.96 copy of Lord of the Rings or heaven almighty! - they'll die.

So to short it up: Things I Bought This Black Friday

Walmart:
- $1.96 movies
- The Box (saw it in theaters, only way I was going to own this was this sale ... it's not worth more than two bucks)
- Sex in the City (I actually think I own this at home - good movie though regardless)
- $12 Friends seasons 9 & 10
- $2.97: (2) crock pots, (1) hand mixer, food chopper
- 5$ Yahtzee

Overall: B - I think the sales could of done better. Where were the discounts on beauty products and CDs?

Target:
- $7.50 Vest (reversible)
- $39 Jewelry Armoir (steal! - I've always wanted one of these)

Overall: A - I have a feeling if I didn't roll up to Target at 1pm I would have gotten my five dollar scarves - In my defense though, I had planned on going to Target at 4am.

Kohl's: I skipped this store this year. So disappointing. You would think they would of had one good deal to drag me in there. Overall: F

Also went to the CCO out in KS (we don't have one in STL). Best buy - Heatherette bronzer!

Shopped at a lot more stores also, but nothing really worth mentioning. The one other thing I can think of would be the 10 drawer colored organizers that everyone uses were only 29.99 at the 'Nebraska Furniture Mart' - too bad I couldn't shove anything more in the car!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Nails.. again!

Yay, my first 'blog sale' buy!

Shout out to Cookie Baby for sending me this, and these gorgeous earrings!

I love love love this color. I don't know if it's because its pink (which is my favorite color) or if it's because I FINALLY got a color I did not have before! Which is an accomplishment for me because I have a lot of nail polish!

It was easy to go on, although I put this over a white base (Wet N' Wild) because two months ago I slammed my fingers in a car door, and there's still discoloration on two fingernails (and I didn't want the color to look off on those nails) so I put a basic color first.

I also had flash on, but it looks really similiar, just a little.. shinier. So anyway,

Pros: Easily on, cheap (usually $1), only two coats needed (which surprised me), it's pink (bonus for me..)

Cons: It dries sticky at first, and it needs two coats (I'm really lazy)

Other than that, I can't think of anything to add to this. I would recommend a top coat to this, just to keep from chipping (which is does, I've already chipped it once).

Color: 9/10
Price: 10/10
Overall: 8/10

First Eye loook!

I really need to trim my eyebrows, hm. Maybe I'll do that tonight.

Anyway, I was (attempting) a Summer-y, watermelon inspired look, but it kind of went down a different path... and I don't know. Eh, it's okay.

I used the following (products):

>> M.A.C. Paint pot in Painterly
>> NYX Ultra Pearl Mania pigment in Lime (I think that's what it's called, I had to look it up because I tore off the product sticker)
>> M.A.C. Zoom Fast Black Lash
>> Sephora eye crayon in green (510)
>> Manly 120 eye pallet (for the pinks and golden)

Other face products used:
>> E.L.F. concealer
>> M.A.C. Studio Fix powder in NW20

That would be my bare eye without product on. The first thing to do is prime the eye. Apply MAC Painterly to the entire eye, making sure you have a even, fully-covered lid before you apply shadow. Using a fluffy brush (213), apply your NYX pigment to the corner and lower eye, covering about 2/3 of the eye. Extend the pigment a little further towards the outside corner of your eye, making a little dip in the middle. Using a flat brush (239) take a bright pink shade (try MAC Passionate), fill in the rest of the eyelid with your pink shade, up to right below the eyebrow. Don't worry if there is a harsh line, it will go away once we blend the yellow in. Using a shading brush (275), take a golden color (try MAC Gorgeous Gold) and blend right on top of the line between the pink and green. Spread the colors evenly to rid eye of harsh lines.
Using the green liner, Line the inside bottom of your lid, and add mascara. Final step (that I forgot to do) is shade out the pink with a highlight under your brow.
Man I really need to pluck my eyebrows!

New Nails! (glitter, yum)

Sooo.. I did my nails new again!

I change my nails so much that I've decided from now on, I refuse to use clear top coat. Or at least, OPI top coat. That stuff is a bitch to get off!

Anyway, this time, I used two nail colors on my nails. The first was a matte color from Claire's, and the other was a glitter from Sinful Colors. I was going to just leave the Matte, but... I added glitter.

The Claire's nail color was pretty good actually. That really surprised me. I had to take it off cause I messed up, and it came of pretty easy too. I'd give it a 8/10 because it's a little thick (I don't know if that was because of the finish), but easy to work with besides that.

The Sinful Colors was great (for glitter), but besides that, I personally world avoid buying it because there's basically no color besides the glitter. It's very useful for putting on OVER colors...but besides that, not really useful. I'd give it a 5/10.

Here's the bottles!

Been so long...

My cat is stalking my door... sort of weird.

I need to have a sale. I just emptied the last of my dresser drawer for beauty stuff... talk about crowded!

FREE STUFF HERE!

haha kidding.

I discovered my new favorite cheap nail polish.. Have you guys ever tried Claire's? Pretty good stuff. I mixed in some of my MAC glitter, and bam looks good. Try it!

Dollar Store Steals!

Soo.. I went to the dollar store the other day .. (I know what you're probably thinking, who the hell buys makeup at the dollar store) and I gotta say, it really surprised me.

I bought these NYC Loose Eye Powders, and dayummm, personally, they are way worth more than one dollar!

It comes in a box that has the eye shadow, a brush, and a eye sealer, but I threw away the brush in my extra brush holder thingy cause it's just one of those flat brushes that two year olds use in their makeup, and I tried the sealer (they work), but I don't really have the time to apply it.. but it works GREAT when you're trying to turn any eyeliner into a waterproof one. If you want me to show you how, just ask.

Anyway, these are what they look like:

(Black Onyx, Espresso, Cocoa Shimmer, Frosty Shimmer)

..and on my hand, they look like this:

The white you can't see easily on my skin (not sure if that's the product or just the lighting because I haven't used that one yet), but the rest are amazing (I have tried the rest) !

I use the Espresso on my outer lid and the Cocoa Shimmer on the inner lid just for a basic eye. Then I add a brown eyeliner and some mascara, and.. perfect neutral eye with just a bit of color!

If I have to recommend getting just one, it would be Espresso.. it works with pretty much anything!

First Review.. Current Nail Polish!

I'll get a picture shortly of the bottle, but I have on my nails currently, N.Y.C. (New York Color) 140B 'Empire State Blue'.

Overall, I like New York Color polish. First off, it's cheap. I get my bottles from Target for .99 cents. So basically, I just have to steal a little change from my friends to get a bottle:) It's also easy to go on, it isn't sticky or anything once it 'dries' like some of my other brands of polish.

There are some downsides though. I guess, not bad, just annoying. I had to put more than one layer on, which I HATE doing (just because I'm lazy), and its just a bit thick, but you can't really tell unless you're really analyzing like I was..

I also suck at painting my own nails, so sorry for the horrible paint job! But you can still see the color:)

Wow, I really need to lotion my hands..

These were the colors (bases and top coats) used for the nail pictured above:

Hello everyone:)

This is my first blog. I think I'm going to stay anonymous, but you can call me Mads for now. Anyway.. I fill you in on a few things that I like to do and stuff:)

-> I am in LOVE with Fashion. It's sort of my addiction.

-> Makeup guru in the making. Don't ask. I've been sort of obsessed with those Youtube 'Makeup Collection' videos that everyone does, so... don't be surprised if I post a makeup collection soon.

-> One day I hope to live in California. No questions asked.

-> I have a secret obsession with writing poems. Maybe one day I'll be a published author:)
